Addressing the perennial issue of centralized data breaches, the proposal aims to minimize risk by building a protocol for zero-disclosure verifiable credentials. The approach involves proving user information both on-chain and off-chain using zero-knowledge (zk) methods. The solution introduces a machine-readable and zk-friendly credential format, along with a schema and logical query language for zero-disclosure. The architecture includes a Mina smart contract flow, a verification process for zkApps, and an off-chain scenario with proof calculation. The goal is to create a comprehensive zkCredential ecosystem architecture, suitable for various use cases. The proposed solution stands out by allowing unified credential authentication across blockchain technologies, decentralized storage on networks like Ceramic, and compatibility with both zk-SNARK and zk-STARK.
