MetaMask Snaps’ interface effortlessly incorporates Mina Protocol via MinaPortal. This enables users to effortlessly generate a Mina Protocol address, execute transactions with Mina tokens, oversee both public and private keys, and review their transaction history. In addition to these capabilities, the Snaps UI extends its functionality to cater to zkApp builders. The collaboration between the Mina Foundation and developer partner SotaTek has led to the seamless integration of Mina Protocol with MetaMask Snaps, a Consensys-developed solution. Notably, Mina Protocol will be among the pioneering non-EVM chains integrated into the MetaMask platform. Through MinaPortal, users of MetaMask can effortlessly manage their MINA assets. As of 2022, MetaMask has exceeded 100 million users. Christian Montoya, Senior Product Manager at MetaMask Snaps, expressed enthusiasm about welcoming Mina Protocol as an innovative builder for MetaMask Snaps. By incorporating Mina Protocol, a leading ZK blockchain, into the MetaMask platform as one of the initial non-EVM chains, MetaMask aims to initiate a journey toward enhancing interoperability. Montoya emphasized the belief in the fundamental importance of permissionless innovation within a decentralized ecosystem. Kurt Hemecker, COO of the Mina Foundation, highlighted the significance of Mina Protocol’s integration, marking a substantial milestone with MinaPortal becoming an integral component of the first production release of MetaMask Snaps. Hemecker emphasized that MinaPortal empowers millions of MetaMask users with the native ZK programmability of Mina Protocol, thereby expanding the possibilities for improved privacy and efficiency in digital transactions and applications.
