zkIgnite 3: Discord Umstad

zkIgnite 3: Discord Umstad

Tech Proposal Overview

The presented proposal introduces a state-of-the-art Discord Bot seamlessly integrated with the zkApp Umstad infrastructure, meticulously crafted to address the growing needs of the Mina Protocol Discord Server community. The bot is strategically designed to enhance user experience through Command Prefixes, Slash Commands, Automated Responses, and a user-friendly Chat Interface.

As the Mina Protocol Discord Server expands, the demand for support and guidance has surged, particularly among developers and new users. The current manual support system faces challenges in handling the escalating number of inquiries effectively. The Discord Umstad bot aims to tackle this issue by providing a 24/7 automated assistance solution, ensuring prompt, reliable, and consistent support utilizing the zkApp Umstad Architecture.

Additionally, the current limitations in Discord’s search functionality pose challenges for users attempting to retrieve relevant information within the zkapps-questions forum. This inefficiency becomes more pronounced with the growing ecosystem, necessitating a streamlined solution.

The Discord Umstad bot leverages zkApp Umstad infrastructure to introduce an advanced developer support system for the Mina Protocol Discord Server.

Automated Responses for Forum Threads:
The Umstad bot responds instantly to questions posted in the zkapps-questions forum channel, ensuring swift and accurate support.

Command Prefix & Slash Commands: Engage in specific channels effortlessly using command prefixes or slash commands, facilitating seamless communication.

Chat Interface: Users can directly interact with the zkApp Umstad through a user-friendly Direct Message interface, enhancing accessibility.

24/7 Availability: Uninterrupted online assistance is provided around the clock, ensuring users receive support whenever needed.

Searcher Functionality:
The Umstad bot enhances search capabilities by querying the Vector DB, providing comprehensive information on related threads, including thread IDs and titles.

The proposed architecture encompasses a Discord Bot with read and write message interfaces, a Chat Interface, Slash Commands, and Automated Answers. The Umstad API seamlessly interfaces with the zkApp Umstad Infrastructure, facilitating efficient and reliable API queries. This architecture ensures scalability, robustness, and feasibility, meeting the criteria for scalability, architecture, and feasibility outlined in the evaluation process.

By implementing this tech proposal, the goal is to revolutionize the support system within the Mina Protocol Discord Server, fostering a more engaging and efficient user experience.

zk-navigators-mina-dec2023

Mina Navigators is poised to establish a groundbreaking standard for ZK developer engagement, urging innovators to embark on the journey of creating, refining, and contributing to the Mina ecosystem.

Timeline

There are three distinct phases within the Navigator program:

  1. Hackathon: October 9 through November 10
  2. Learn-to-earn challenges: November 2023 through April 2024
  3. Final contribution grant: April 30, 2024
Phase One

In Phase One, known as The Navigators Hackathon, commencing on October 9th, a five-week hackathon unfolds. Outstanding submissions during this period stand a chance to receive MINA token grants and a coveted 'Navigator' badge—a symbol of acceptance into the Navigators program. Those adorned with the badge qualify for Phase Two, engaging in monthly challenges to accrue grants.

Developers are tasked with constructing functional and efficient proof-of-concept applications and tooling for Mina. This endeavor aims to spotlight their ingenuity and technical prowess across diverse use cases on the Mina platform.

Judging involves a panel of seven individuals from the Mina ecosystem. For more comprehensive information regarding grants, submission criteria, and the judging process, the Navigators hub offers detailed insights.

Phase Two

In Phase Two, the Navigators embark on the Build and Learn-to-Earn journey (or, as they humorously term it, Navigate-to-Earn). This marks the initiation of the enjoyable phase. Post-hackathon, Navigators engage in collaborative efforts, either on their personal projects or those of their peers from the hackathon. Their active participation in a 6-month series of challenges positions them to earn monthly grants, facilitating an accelerated learning experience on ZK, Mina, and o1js.

Phase Three

As Phase Three unfolds, the Navigators, having invested six months of unwavering dedication and hard work, seize the opportunity to present their contributions. A panel of community electors becomes the discerning audience, evaluating these endeavors for the coveted grand prizes of MINA grants. Notably, these prizes distinguish themselves by being non-project-specific, emphasizing individual contributions spread across various projects and GitHub repositories.
